EtherFi Cash Card Review: Fees, Availability, and Crypto Card Features
A factual EtherFi Cash card review covering fees, supported countries, card availability, rewards, KYC, and how the non-custodial EtherFi card works.
If you are searching for the EtherFi card, EtherFi Cash, EtherFi Cash, or even ether fi card (yeah, the naming is tricky here), the first thing to know is that this is a crypto-backed Visa credit card product, not a standard prepaid crypto debit card.
Quick overview
EtherFi Cash is a non-custodial Visa card with virtual and physical card support, full KYC, Apple Pay and Google Pay, and funding via crypto and bank transfer rails.
Cashback can reach 3%, is currently credited as USDC, and steps down progressively based on monthly spend and membership tier.
The main trade-offs are jurisdiction restrictions, state-level exclusions in the US, 2% ATM fees, 1% FX on non-USD/non-EUR transactions, and the fact that some availability details still need user-side verification before sign-up.

What EtherFi Cash is
EtherFi Cash is a crypto-native card product tied to the EtherFi ecosystem. Officially, EtherFi describes it as a Visa credit card that lets users spend with crypto, earn cashback, and keep a non-custodial setup through their Vault. The card is available as a virtual card, while the physical card is already covered in EtherFi’s current help documentation.
A useful way to think about it is this:
- it is not a standard bank debit card;
- it is not a plain custodial crypto card balance;
- it is a crypto-backed spending product with card rails, DeFi-linked funding, and a self-custody angle.
EtherFi Cash review: core product details
| Card | Network | Custody | Card format |
|---|---|---|---|
| EtherFi Cash | Visa | Non-custodial | Virtual + physical |
| Card | KYC | Wallet support | Funding |
|---|---|---|---|
| EtherFi Cash | Full | Apple Pay, Google Pay | Crypto, bank transfer |
EtherFi’s official help center says the card is part of Club membership, requires identity verification, and can be used anywhere Visa is accepted. Our data lists the issuer as Rain and funding methods including crypto, SWIFT, bank transfer, FedWire, PIX, FTS, and BREB.
How the Ether fi card works
The product has two main spending modes:
- Direct Pay – you spend supported assets already held in your Vault.
- Borrow Mode – you borrow against collateral in the Vault and spend without selling the underlying asset.
For Direct Pay, EtherFi’s help center currently says supported spend assets are USDC and LiquidUSD. For Borrow Mode, the card can use supported Vault assets as collateral, with different LTV ratios by asset. Examples listed by EtherFi include USDC 90%, EURC 90%, USDT 90%, wETH 55%, and OP 20%. Borrowed balances currently accrue 4% APY interest with no grace period.
That setup is what makes EtherFi Cash different from simpler crypto card products: it can function either as a direct spend card for selected stable assets or as a collateral-backed credit line.
Fees, cashback, and rewards
EtherFi card fees
| Card | Monthly fee | FX fee | ATM fee |
|---|---|---|---|
| EtherFi Cash | 0 | 1% | 2% |
Based on our data, EtherFi Cash has no monthly fee, a standard 1% FX fee, and a 2% ATM withdrawal fee.
Official help documentation adds an important nuance: USD and EUR transactions get 0% FX, while the 1% FX fee applies to other transactions for Core, Luxe, and Pinnacle tiers; VIP has separate terms. Official help also lists an ATM cash limit of $250 per 24 hours with up to 3 attempts in that period.
Physical card costs
| Card | Core physical card | Delivery time | Pinnacle delivery |
|---|---|---|---|
| EtherFi Cash | $40 refundable deposit | 15+ business days | 1–3 business days |
EtherFi’s physical card FAQ says Core members pay a $40 deposit for a physical card, and that deposit can be refunded if the user upgrades to Luxe within 12 months. Delivery is listed as 15+ business days for standard shipping, with 1–3 business days for Pinnacle.
Cashback and yield
| Card | Base cashback | Cashback paid in | Savings APY |
|---|---|---|---|
| EtherFi Cash | Up to 3% | USDC | 2%–8% |
EtherFi’s official cashback documentation says qualifying purchases earn cashback in USD displayed as USDC, not wETH. That matters, because some older community commentary described wETH cashback, but the current official help center and our data both point to USDC. Cashback is progressive, not flat across all spend.
Current published cashback ladders for personal accounts are:
- Core: 3% on first $2,000 per month, 1% on next $1,000, then 0.5%
- Luxe: 3% on first $10,000, 1% on next $10,000, then 0.5%
- Pinnacle: 3% on first $50,000, 1% on next $30,000, then 0.5%
ATM withdrawals, cash-equivalent transactions, many financial transfers, gambling, rent-like payments, and some other merchant categories do not earn cashback.

Availability: where EtherFi Cash is supported
Availability is the biggest thing to check before applying.
Our data shows EtherFi Cash as globally available in broad terms, but with a clear note that there are restricted countries and 20 excluded US states. EtherFi’s own help center confirms that Cash and fiat services are unavailable in several jurisdictions and lists the excluded US states directly.
Excluded countries
EtherFi’s help center lists the following countries as unsupported for Cash or fiat services:
Belarus, Bangladesh, China, Cuba, Estonia, Finland, Hungary, India, Iraq, Israel, Nepal, Netherlands, North Korea, Philippines, Russia, Syria, Turkey, Ukraine, Venezuela, and Vietnam.
Excluded US states
EtherFi’s help center lists these 20 unsupported US states:
Arizona, Delaware, Georgia, Idaho, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Ohio, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Tennessee, Vermont, Washington, and Wisconsin.
Important US caveat
There is a real availability caveat here. Our data includes United States in the supported country list, but also flags US = No at summary level while separately listing the 20 excluded states. In practice, that means US readers should treat state-level eligibility as the key rule and verify availability directly before applying. Based on the current official help article, EtherFi does support Cash in the US except for the listed restricted states, but this is one of the items worth checking again at sign-up because provider wording and database labels do not line up perfectly.
Physical card shipping countries
Physical card shipping is narrower than overall account availability. EtherFi’s physical card FAQ currently lists shipping support for a large but specific set of countries and regions, including the US, UK, UAE, Singapore, Australia, Canada, Japan, South Korea, much of Western Europe, and parts of Latin America and the Caribbean. If your country is not in EtherFi’s shipping list, the mailing option may not appear even if Cash access is otherwise supported.
Supported currencies and assets
This is another area where product naming can confuse people.
Card currency
EtherFi says the card currently uses USD-based denomination, while native euro support is planned. At the same time, EtherFi also says EUR purchases receive 0% FX and use adjusted cashback ladders, so EUR spending is already supported in practice even if the card is not yet natively denominated in euro.
Spend assets
For Direct Pay mode, EtherFi currently names:
- USDC
- LiquidUSD
Collateral assets
For Borrow Mode, EtherFi lists a broader set of supported collateral assets, including:
- USDC
- EURC
- USDT
- wETH
- weETH
- ETHFI / sETHFI
- OP
- eBTC
- selected EtherFi liquid vault assets such as LiquidETH, LiquidBTC, LiquidUSD, and LiquidEUR.
If you are comparing EtherFi Cash with simpler crypto cards, this is one of the main differences: the card supports both stablecoin spending and collateral-backed borrowing inside the EtherFi Vault structure.
Onboarding, KYC, and practical limits
EtherFi says users need to:
- sign up for Club membership,
- go to the Cash tab,
- complete KYC,
- then use the virtual card, with the physical card ordered separately if available.
For spending limits, current official documentation shows:
- Core: up to $30,000/day
- Luxe: up to $50,000/day
- Pinnacle: up to $100,000/day
Users can also set their own daily and monthly spending limits inside the app.
What stands out in this EtherFi Cash review
Strengths
- Non-custodial structure compared with many custodial crypto card programs.
- Virtual and physical card support with Apple Pay and Google Pay.
- Up to 3% cashback paid in USDC.
- Borrow Mode for users who want to spend against collateral instead of selling crypto.
- No monthly fee in our data.
Limitations
- Availability is not universal, with country restrictions and 20 excluded US states.
- ATM withdrawals cost 2% and are capped at $250 per day.
- FX is only 0% for USD and EUR transactions; other transactions still carry a fee.
- Core cashback drops sharply after the first spending band.
- Physical card shipping is not identical to account availability.
Final verdict
EtherFi Cash looks most suitable for users who specifically want a Visa card with crypto funding, self-custody-oriented account structure, and the option to spend stablecoins directly or borrow against collateral. That makes it structurally different from many products people group under the broad “crypto debit card” label.
The biggest things to verify before applying are simple:
- whether your country is supported,
- whether your US state is supported if you are in America,
- whether your country is in the physical shipping list,
- and whether the current FX and cashback tier rules match your expected usage.
